Meet Monica:
Hello! My name is Monica Bhatia, I am a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in both teaching and social work, specializing in school social work and private practice therapy. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Teaching of Spanish. Early in my teaching career, I discovered my passion for connecting with students and supporting their personal and academic growth, which ultimately led me to pursue social work as a career. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University in 2017, received my LCSW license in 2020, and have been practicing privately since May 2021.
As a social worker, I am committed to building strong therapeutic relationships, believing that they play a pivotal role in achieving meaningful change. I primarily use a strengths-based and client-centered approach, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable. My experience spans a wide range of issues, including anxiety, peer conflict, adjustment disorders, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and school-related anxieties. I find deep fulfillment in helping children and young adults develop socially and emotionally and enjoy collaborating closely with parents and caregivers to support the child’s progress holistically.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, reading, and exploring the outdoors with my dog.
